Bah!!! I'm an idiot.

This is my very first lace project AND my very first time using a chart. Well, I've been reading the chart from left to right! I don't know how I missed the right to left thing in the directions but, ack...how dumb. And hey, surprise, surprise, it's made a huge difference.

Are all charts read from right to left, or is this one different? Obviously, the moral of the story is to READ the pattern before jumping in.

I did the exact same thing with Shedir. I learned (after knitting 40-odd rounds) that charts are written as the item is suppossed to look when finished. That is, when you are knitting in the round, it will always be from right to left. (sigh) Something tells me that neither one of us will ever make that mistake again!

I have my Silky Wool just waiting for me to start this.

From what I've learned (me being a beginner at lace as well), all charts are read from right to left.
