New to KAL
I'm a fairly new knitter (self-taught in March '05) and this will be my first lace project. I fell in love with this pattern when I saw it in Knitty. I'm not a scarf person (yet!) so this will be a gift to MIL. DH picked out the yarn for his Mom - it will be Patons Classic Wool Merino. I see all the pretty FOs and was inspired to finally dive in and try it.

Branching Out will be nice and cozy warm in the Patons Classic Merino. Make sure your MIL knows that it's a hand wash only item because the Patons wool felts up beautifully when it's washed in the washing machine.

First lace project, how exciting! Lace is so much fun to knit. I'm sure your MIL will love the scarf. Looking forward to seeing your finished scarf.
